Do you have a poem or group of poems you want to submit to a contest of publication one day? I can increase the likelihood your poem will be selected by editors through constructive, written feedback on your work. Editors get thousands of poetry submissions to their contests, literary magazines, and anthologies, and my advice will help you revise your poem to make sure it stands out in the slush pile.
My feedback will be three paragraphs and address the poem’s title, structure, word choice, tone, poetic devices, and overall meaning. My critique will be RESPECTFUL and ACTION-ORIENTED, and I will also note what is working well in the poem so you can lean into your strengths as you revise.
I will also include a short list of literary magazines currently open to submissions for you to consider once you’re ready to submit your work. If you plan to submit your poem to a specific contest or publication, please send me their submission website, and that will help me tailor my feedback for you.
If you submit more than one poem, I will give feedback on each poem separately unless you ask me to consider them together (for example, if they are part of a poetry collection you are working on).
